The surface tension, measured in Dynes/cm, helps ensure proper adhesion compatibility between inks, coatings and substrates. When the surface tension is overly low, the inks or coatings will not be able to adhere to the substrate properly.

GY-AP-26, developed by GYC GROUP, can effectively rise the surface tension of substrate to a defined point, which helps the printing process can be successfully completed when combining a proper ink and processing method.

Applications

  • Surface tension rising purpose for any films: PVC, PP, PE, etc.
  • Can be used as a film adhesive for BOPP
  • Adhesion for plastics
  • Adhesion for nylon

 

Adding Rate

By adding into the substance:

Recommended adding rate: 1~3%

The adding rate is to be regarded as general guideline which can be adjusted according to type of material, inks, processing method, and the expected effect.

 

By spray coating:

Dilute GY-AP-26 with xylene or benzene-based solvents and spray coat/coat on the substrate.

Mixing proportion is as follows. GY-AP-26 : solvent = 2 : 8 or 3 : 7

  • The adhesion ability will be affected by the thickness of the coating. A moderate spray coating amount is suggested.
  • The adhesion ability can be improved after baking the coating layer.
  • A substrate cleaning process (e.g. decontamination, degreasing) before coating will improve the adhesion ability.
