Generally, inorganic materials such as metal or glass have extremely low surface energy, making it difficult for coatings or resins to be directly applied to the surface, and because of poor adhesion, the quality of the finished product is greatly reduced; therefore, corona or flame is often used for pretreatment to improve the adhesion of coatings or resins.

However, the additional equipment and operating procedures (control of intensity and processing time) required by corona incur additional production costs, which virtually reduce production efficiency.

GY-AP-27 adhesion promoter can be directly added to organic resin as a primer or additive without additional pre-treatment. The operation is convenient and fast, and it improves the adhesion and peeling strength between the resin substrates, and it gives good appearance to the product which can improve the quality of the product.

Applications

  • Promoter for adhesion like coatings, resins, etc. (polyurethane, acrylic, epoxy, alkyd, phenolic resin)
  • Promoter for surface adhesion of low-polarity materials (glass, ceramic, aluminum, copper, steel, metal).
  • The promoter for viscosity of epoxy resin or polyurethane electronic component sealant
  • Glass sealant, glass paint
  • Water-based paint, water-based resin, and water-based
  • Nylon or other plastics, elastomers
  • Application for enhancing adhesion between other low surface energy substrates and resins

Adding Rate

As a substrate brush or additive directly added to the resin:

1. Substrate brushing:

  Adding amount(%)
GY-AP-27 5 %
Solvents (alcohols such as alcohol, isopropanol and ethylene glycol) 95 %
Total 100%

After mixing uniformly, coat it on the surface of the substrate and make it adhere at high temperature

2. Add directly: 0.5~2.0%
Users can adjust the amount of addition according to the different types of resins, substrates, and improvement of material adhesion.
